About the Labradoodle

The Labradoodle is a Labrador Retriever × Standard Poodle cross originated in 1989 by Wally Conron at the Royal Guide Dogs Association of Australia, attempting to breed a guide-dog variant for allergy-affected handlers. Conron has publicly regretted popularizing the cross for companion markets; the breed is not AKC-recognized.
