How dogage.co collects and uses data, how cookies and analytics work, how affiliate links are disclosed, and how you can request data removal. Effective April 19, 2026.

Summary

dogage.co is a static reference site. We do not require user accounts, do not collect personally-identifying information through forms on this site at launch, and calculators run client-side — the numbers you enter stay in your browser and are not sent to our servers.

Analytics (Google Analytics 4) and session-replay (Microsoft Clarity) will be added during the post-launch operating period to understand which pages are useful. Both can be disabled by any privacy-focused browser extension, and both honor the Do Not Track header where sent.

What we collect

  • Server logs. Standard web-server logs record requested URLs, HTTP status codes, user agents, and truncated IP addresses. Retained 30 days for abuse mitigation.
  • Analytics (planned). Google Analytics 4 will record page-views, referrers, device class (mobile / desktop), and country-level geography. GA4 IP-anonymisation will be enabled. No cross-site tracking.
  • Session replay (planned). Microsoft Clarity will record anonymised session interaction (click, scroll, rage-click patterns) for UX debugging. Form inputs are masked by default — Clarity does not capture values entered into the calculators.
  • Calculator inputs. Dog age, weight, breed, and similar values you type into a calculator stay in your browser. Nothing you enter is transmitted to dogage.co servers.
  • Affiliate click-outs. When you click an affiliate link, the destination retailer (Amazon, Chewy, etc.) receives a referral tag identifying dogage.co as the source. Retailer privacy policies govern what they collect from there; we only see aggregate click counts via their dashboards.

Cookies

dogage.co itself sets no first-party cookies for tracking. When GA4 and Clarity are added, they will set their own cookies to maintain session identity. You can block these through your browser's privacy settings, a privacy extension (uBlock Origin, Privacy Badger), or by declining cookies if a consent banner is shown in your region.

Affiliate networks (Amazon Associates, ShareASale, CJ Affiliate, Impact) may set cookies on click-through to attribute a purchase to dogage.co for commission. These cookies live on the retailer domain, not on dogage.co.

Affiliate disclosure

Several pages on this site — primarily breed senior-care pages and selected editorial articles — include affiliate links to retailers like Amazon, Chewy, and pet-product specialists. If you click through and make a purchase, dogage.co may earn a small commission at no additional cost to you. Affiliate links are disclosed inline with a visible "Affiliate" tag above every such section and are tagged with rel="sponsored" per Google's guidance.

dogage.co is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. Similar participation disclosures apply to the other affiliate networks above.

Editorial decisions — which products are recommended, and in which category — are independent of affiliate relationships. We do not accept paid placements, sponsored posts, or content produced by third-party brand partners.

Who we share data with

We do not sell or rent any user data. Data shared with third parties is limited to what's necessary for the operations listed above: hosting (Vercel), analytics (GA4 + Clarity when added), and affiliate-network attribution cookies. Each of these has their own privacy policy and data-handling terms.

Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

If you are a resident of the EU, UK, or California, you have the right to request a copy of any personal data we hold about you, request its correction, or request its deletion. Since dogage.co does not collect personally-identifying information through forms at launch, most requests resolve to:

  • Analytics opt-out: install a privacy extension, use browser private/incognito mode, or send the DNT header.
  • Server-log scrub: email privacy@dogage.co with the approximate time window and source IP range you want scrubbed from access logs.
  • Affiliate attribution: clear cookies on the affiliate retailer's domain to remove the referral tag.

Children

dogage.co is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has submitted information through this site, email privacy@dogage.co and we will promptly delete it.

Changes to this policy

Material changes are reflected in the effective date at the top of this page. Minor clarifications are made without a date bump. For historical versions, the site's git repository is public and preserves the full policy history.
