The Puli is a Hungarian sheep-herding breed documented in Magyar records from the 9th-10th centuries, brought to the Carpathian Basin during the Magyar migration. The corded coat forms naturally as the dual-layer coat interlocks; Komondor cords are its larger counterpart.
