About

About the Pomsky

The Pomsky is a Pomeranian × Siberian Husky cross first produced intentionally in 2012 in the United States. The size difference between parents requires artificial insemination (Husky dam, Pom sire); the breed is not AKC-recognized and F1 phenotype varies considerably.

How Pomskys age

Parent-breed medians: Pomeranian 12.2y, Siberian Husky 11.9y (RVC VetCompass). Hereditary cataracts from the Husky parent and tracheal collapse from the Pomeranian parent are the defining inherited concerns; hip dysplasia shared.
