About

About the Puggle

The Puggle is a Pug × Beagle cross popularized in the 1990s. The breed is not AKC-recognized; a longer muzzle than the purebred Pug reduces (but does not eliminate) brachycephalic airway severity from the Pug parent.

Aging

How Puggles age

Parent-breed medians: Pug 11.6y, Beagle 12.5y (RVC VetCompass). Brachycephalic airway features inherit from the Pug parent — severity depends on muzzle length of the individual puppy; epilepsy and IVDD inherit from the Beagle parent.
